Our PMO Team to the 55th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) won four medals and two honorable mentions in the prestigious 55th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Cape Town, South Africa.
Adrian Reginald Sy of St. Jude Catholic School won the country’s silver medal in the contest, the third Silver medal for the country since it joined in 1988. The last time the country won a silver medal was in 2010 courtesy of Carmela Antoinette Lao of St. Jude Catholic School.
Bronze medals were awarded to Farrell Eldrian Wu of MGC New Life Christian Academy, Kyle Patrick Dulay of the Philippine Science High School-Main and Matthew Ryan Tan of St. Jude Catholic School.
Honorable mentions were Ma. Czarina Angela Lao of St. Jude Catholic School and Clyde Wesley Ang of Chiang Kai Shek College.
This year, the Philippines ranked 45rd overall, its best showing since 1992. The Philippine Team also bagged the highest Team Score of 96 points since it joined in 1988.
